Our supporters

It’s not only individual Stroudies who have been so generous with their time and efforts – many companies, local businesses, groups and institutions have also provided their support and continue to do so.If there’s a business or organisation we should add, please get in touch.

Many, many thanks to all below…

DHL Aid & Relief Service

DHL’s Aid & Relief Service are dedicated to providing shipment of humanitarian aid at special cost price rates and they have been seriously helpful as we floundered around sorting out shipping donations to the Greek Islands (none of us had any real experience doing this) In particular Jonathan Baker from the humanitarian Aid & Relief Services team at DHL Global Forwarding (UK), who has been a fantastic support – thanks Jonathan!

Trainspotters – industrial lighting & salvage

As well as raising funds, collecting donations and taking aid to Calais, Jesse and his team have been providing much needed storage, transport and assistance to the Stroud efforts. Thanks is too small a word really…

The Prince Albert, Rodborough

From putting on refugee themed events to providing a space for group meetings to accepting and storing donations, Lotte and her team have been wonderful supporters. And the beer’s pretty good too….

Stroud District Council

Our local council have supported us magnificently – best of all by providing us with temporary use of a large warehouse for collecting, sorting and preparing donations for transportation. We cannot thank them enough, particularly Bryony from the Asset Management Team.

Our local media

The publicity provided by our local media organisations has ensured that the number of donations, the attendance at events and the offers of volunteers has exceeded our expectations. Many thanks to the journalists from The Stroud News & Journal and Stroudlife

JoJo Maman Bébé

Over 2000 pairs of children’s wellies donated and delivered to our warehouse courtesy of the wonderful  JoJo Maman Bébé! Incredibly generous and thankfully received, we sent them off to Calais & Greece to keep little refugee feet dry

MacFarlane Packaging, Gloucester

MacFarlane’s  have provided us with brand new cardboard boxes at a very low cost, specially for packing all the donations and donated 160 free boxes too. Having proper sized boxes has been a godsend – Thank you Macfarlane Packaging!

Davenports Building & Landscaping

Thank you to Davenports for donating £150 worth of plywood for shelter building in Calais.

Stroud Valleys Artspace (SVA)

Our fabulous local arts charity, SVA organised and hosted an art auction of donated works by artists from Stroud and elsewhere (including some very well known names..) raising £10, 000 plus for refugees. Huge thanks to SVA, the lovely artists and the generous bidders.
